An Act of construction implies an act of destruction.
Video-speech.

This piece is focused on discovering the city as anyone self portrait. I wanted the viewer to break the need with narrative videos. I created stimuli meant to guide the experience. The images were gathered during a 2 weeks fieldwork diary, it has a sense of a documentary. I recorded two kinds of images. The first kind were images that represented my presence.

I could not appear at the video. I would record spaces, objects and other images that could relate to my

presence. The second kind were images that represented visual and symbolic expressions of Bogota`s culture and its people. I would record images crossing from one kind to the other depending on the case.

On the editing stage I over processed the juxtaposition of the images to create visual accents over the "documents" gathered. I affected both the image and sound frame rates, and I increased tensions with other sound effects and recordings. I wanted to create the notion of long periods of time passing by, so that the viewer may have time to become introspective while watches the video. For these reasons the video has to be seen standing up in a big projection in a small room.

During this projection, there should be at the room someone to put on the wall each letter that writes "An act of construction implies an act of destruction."
